Music Educators - Jeff Peterson
Jeff Peterson is incredibly passionate about teaching music. He is a graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with a Masters of Music, San Francisco State University with a Masters of Arts and the University of the Pacific with a Bachelors of Music in Music Composition. After teaching at local elementary schools he went on to work at MakeMusic Inc. He started his music studies on the piano when he was 4 and later picked up the trumpet and French horn before committing to composition. His compositions have received recognition, winning the Sonoma Fine Arts Commission and the John Phillip Sousa Award. His teaching style encourages students to physically warm up in the beginning of each lessons, is informed by his mastery of music theory and supported by many resources that he makes available through google folders.
